Summary
Shall we replace money with happiness? Reflections on the meaning and ambitions of the „economics of happiness“. The economics of happiness is a field that has come up with an influential concept that points to the exaggerated importance of money (GDP) in society and in the lives of individuals. The new measure of progress is to be „happiness“ instead of money. The paper attempts to critically reflect, in a concise manner, on the philosophical and ethical issues raised by the transformation of the economic paradigm. The dangers of the economics of happiness are the notion of strong objectivism, the overly hasty ambition to claim social influence, and the absence of the question of what ethical approach is actually implied by the economics of happiness.

Ekonomie štěstí je obor, který přišel s vlivnou koncepcí poukazující na přehnaný význam peněz (HDP) ve společnosti i v životě jednotlivců. Novým měřítkem pokroku se má namísto peněz stát „štěstí“. Článek se pokouší stručným způsobem kriticky reflektovat filosofické a etické otázky, které proměna ekonomického paradigmatu vyvolává. Za nebezpečí ekonomie štěstí považujeme pojetí silného objektivismu, příliš zbrklou ambici domoci se společenského vlivu a absenci otázky, jaký etický přístup je vlastně ekonomií štěstí implikován.
