Summary
On the Good and the Ungood in The Economics of Good and Evil. This study analyses the monograph by Tomáš Sedláček, The Economics of Good and Evil. It is seen as a popularizing book, not a scholarly one. The book is understood to be a popularizing book, not a scholarly one. Gradually, there is summed up some of the inconsistencies in Sedláček’s treatment of the Epic of Gilgamesh and Biblical literature. In this the book is at odds with its popularity. It depends on the close connection between the history of economic and religious thought, but, as a result of a failing interpretation, it is unable to live up to its own purpose. But in doing so, it directly entangles itself into a dilemma (questions of good and evil) that she herself has themed.

Tato studie analyzuje monografii Tomáše Sedláčka Ekonomie dobra a zla. Chápe ji jako knihu popularizující, nikoli odbornou. Postupně shrnuje část nesrovnalostí v Sedláčkově pojednání Eposu o Gilgamešovi a biblické literatury. V tom je kniha v rozporu se svou popularitou. Záleží v ní na těsné souvislosti dějin ekonomického a náboženského myšlení, ale v důsledku selhávající interpretace není s to dostát vlastnímu záměru. Tím se ale sama přímo zaplétá do dilematu (otázek dobra a zla), které sama tematizuje.
